How a Chimney Stack Is Rebuilt

With scaffolding up, the stack is taken down brick by brick to sound brickwork, usually around roof level. It is then rebuilt with good bricks and fresh mortar, a new weathered crown on top and new lead flashing. The pots are then reset or replaced.

Keeping the Original Look

On older homes, the chimney is part of the character of the house. Where possible, the original bricks are cleaned and reused so the rebuilt stack matches. If bricks are too damaged, matching reclaimed or new bricks can be sourced to suit the rest of the house.
